Many thanks to the many people and voluntary organisations who sent in consultations to the “Immigration, Asylum and Identity” Policy Working Group. The consultation has now ended, and policy is now being worked on by the working group, ready for presentation, and hopeful agreement to a policy motion based on it at the Spring Party Conference in York.
There were far more people wanting to speak at the consultation session and written submissions for asylum policy than any other aspect of immigration, every one of them supportive of the aim of treating our seekers of sanctuary with dignity and respect. Good to know that support is there.
Note that the policy working group is looking at Liberal Democrat Policy for the 2015 election and after, it has NOT had any part in the Immigration Bill currently going through Parliament.
