Together with Refugees – Valentine’s Day MP action

Urge MPs to support our amendments

Over the next couple of months, it’s critical we urge MPs to oppose the Government’s plans on the Nationality and Borders Bill both publicly and privately. Our parliamentary leads across the coalition continue to lobby behind the scenes to secure cross party support for our two amendments. By securing support in the House of Lords we’re aiming to ensure that MPs get a chance to vote on these amendments. Should you get a meeting with your MP here’s guidance to help you and a policy briefing prepared for them.
Send a Valentine’s Day card with a twist
We’re using Valentine’s Day to call on MPs to get behind the two amendments and to send a strong signal to Ministers. Please support this by presenting or sending a card to your MP that shows the strength of local support for a more compassionate approach to refugees. The card calls on MPs to take action, suggesting three simple things they can do to support our amendments. Here are some ideas on the Valentine’s Card with a twist and suggested text for your card here.
You can find some card designs to print or inspire you here. And this week you will be able to find a media and social media toolkit in this folder.
